From "I Do" to Let’s Play! Why I Love Being Your Wedding MC + Crowd-Pleasing Games to Entertain Your Guests
As a celebrant, I have the absolute honour of guiding couples through the most important part of their big day—saying “I do.” But did you know I can also keep the celebration going as your wedding MC?
Wearing both hats (celebrant + MC) allows me to bring a beautiful blend of heart and humour to your entire day. From welcoming guests to announcing speeches and coordinating your grand entrance, I’m there to keep everything flowing—with a smile, a mic, and maybe a few cheeky games tucked up my sleeve.
So, let’s talk games!
🎉 Why Games at Your Wedding?
Games are a wonderful way to:
Break the ice between guests
Fill in any lulls during the reception
Add laughter and connection to your celebration
Make your wedding uniquely YOU
Whether it’s a sit-down dinner or a cocktail-style soirée, games can be as subtle or as show-stopping as you like.
Game 1: The Shoe Game (A Classic for a Reason!)
The Shoe Game is one of my all-time favourites. It’s sweet, silly, and always gets a laugh.
How it works:
The couple sits back-to-back, each holding one of their own shoes and one of their partner’s.
I ask a series of fun questions like:
“Who made the first move?”
“Who’s the better driver?”
“Who’s more likely to cry during a movie?”
Instead of answering out loud, they raise the shoe of the person they think best fits the answer.
Why it's great:
It’s entertaining, insightful, and a little bit adorable. Plus, it works beautifully for all kinds of couples—LGBTQ+, non-traditional, or those just wanting something light-hearted during the evening.
Game 2: Guest Game Cards at the Tables
Let’s give your guests a reason to giggle and mingle with personalised game cards at each table. These are fun little icebreakers to keep the conversation buzzing during dinner.
Card ideas include:
📝 “Who’s Most Likely To…”
Each guest ticks off answers about the couple or the guests at the table.
🎤 “Wedding Speech Bingo”
Guests mark off words or phrases commonly used in speeches—like “soulmates,” “crazy night,” or “the in-laws.”
💌 “Advice for the Newlyweds”
Guests write their best (or funniest) advice for the couple. I can even read out a few during the night for extra laughs!
👀 “Find Someone Who…”
Encourages guests to chat and find someone at the table who’s, say, travelled overseas recently or can do a party trick.
These cards can be printed to match your wedding colours and stationery, or we can go totally casual and have a mixed bag of quirky styles.
Let’s Make it Unforgettable
As your MC, I’ll tailor the vibe to suit your crowd. Want low-key laughs? We can do that. Ready to go full party-mode? I’ll bring the energy. From the heartfelt moments to the hilarious ones, I’ve got your back—and your mic.
Want me as your MC too?
Let’s chat! I’d love to help you create a day that’s not just memorable, but full of moments your guests will be talking about long after the last dance.
